A Passion For Figure Skating
For over 50 years the Racquet Club of Victoria (RCV) has been a leader in figure skating development on Vancouver Island . From entry level CanSkate programs to National level competitive skaters, the Racquet Club provides a seamless, fully integrated program for all levels.
RCV offers coaching and programming for figure skaters of all levels from Canskate to National level competitive skaters. The RCV skating schedule varies depending on the time of year.
Our coaching team is exceptional and is led by Head Coach and former National level skater Deena Beacom. All of our coaches are certified under the National Certification Program (NCCP) and Skate Canada.
Racquet Club of Victoria figure skating proudly puts on an Ice show every two years. In 2023 we presented The Kurt Browning on Ice Show, which was a huge success. RCV also hosts competitions on Vancouver Island.
RCV operates out of the Ian Stewart Complex at the University of Victoria as well as several other ice rinks in the greater Victoria area.

Remembering Sandra Leard
Sandra Leard was a founding member of the Racquet Club of Victoria in 1967. As long time director her commitment to her students and the club as a whole is legendary.
Mrs. Leard always strived for perfection in her skaters. Instilling hard work and a strong sense of pride made it possible for countless of her students to reach top honours regionally, provincially and nationally.
The effects of Sandra Leard’s determination to the sport of figure skating and the skaters in Greater Victoria is still being felt and will continue to be felt for a very long time to come.
The Racquet Club of Victoria cherishes it’s amazingly strong roots and dedicates all it’s successes to Mrs. Leard. Without her iron will, our sights would never have been set so high.
