Thank you so much to everyone who supported the Racquet Club of Victoria fundraising efforts. We are excited to announce that the Purdy’s Chocolate fundraiser raised $802.99 and the Poinsettia fundraiser made $541 for a combined total of $1343.99. These funds will go a long way in supporting our amazing team of skaters! THANK YOU!

We are thrilled to announce that Anne Nicholishen is the winner of four ice level Holiday on Ice tickets. For over 25 years, Anne has created beautiful costumes for every skater in our club. RCV skaters ventured north to Campbell River on the weekend to take part in the Vancouver Island Interclub Competition. Congratulations to all of the skaters who took part. We are proud of you!

RCV Skaters took part in the Skate Canada BC/YT Super Series Sections in Parksville, BC in early November. Congratulations on bringing your best efforts and for representing RCV proudly. Huge congrats to Nathan Guo- finishing 4th in the Pre-Novice men and securing a spot at the Skate Canada Trophy/National Championship event in February 2025.

The Racquet Club of Victoria Skating Club is holding a raffle draw for the prize of four ice level tickets for the Stars on Ice Holiday Show starring Olympians and Canadian and World Champions such as Kaetlyn Osmond, Elvis Stojko, Weaver and Poje, Gracie Gold and more. The show is at the Save-on Foods Centre in Victoria on December 10th, 2024.

The Oceanside Place arena in Parksville, BC welcomed almost 100 skaters from all over Vancouver Island for an incredible weekend. Lead by Olympic Figure Skating coach Ravi Walia and multiple Olympic medalist Kaetlyn Osmond, skaters were treated to numerous on ice sessions and off ice sessions over two days. Many of our RCV skaters took part and learned from some of Canada's best coaches, skaters and technical officials! Thank you to Skate Canada and the Vancouver Island Region for creating this amazing opportunity!

RCV skaters will be heading to the Scotia Barn arena in Burnaby, BC this weekend for the BC/YT Section Super Series Summerskate competition. Summer training has been incredibly fun and productive and we are looking forward to cheering on our amazng team from Vancouver Island! Our golf tournament fundraiser was a huge success. Over 60 enthusiastic golfers, parents, volunteers and RCV skaters joined us at the Cordova Bay Ridge golf course for an incredible evening of golf, great food and fun and games. Thank you to everyone who took part or volunteered and thank you to our amazing sponsors and to the Cordova Bay Ridge course for hosting us.

The RCV annual summer performance night was a huge success! Thank you to all of the parents and skaters who showed up to cheer on RCV skaters of all levels as they performed solo’s and multiple group numbers.

Join us on Wednesday July 17th, 2024 from 5:30-8:30pm at Pearkes Arena for our annual summer performance night. Our skaters have been working hard to deliver an awesome show for you! Skaters of all ages will be taking part and showcasing their skills as well as fun and entertaining group numbers. Entrance is by donation and can be made at the door. Coffee and hot chocolate will be served.

Congratulations to RCV skaters June Lim and Ruby Blake on their success at the BC/YT high performance competition in June. Both June and Ruby had the highest long program scores and finished on the podium. June finished 3rd overall in the Pre-Novice mens division and Ruby finished 1st in the Pre-Novice womens division.

We are thrilled to announce that our next Ice show will be on March 21-23, 2025 at the Archie Browning Arena in Victoria, BC.

Our 2023 Ice Show, featuring the legendary Kurt Browning, was a huge success. RCV Ice Shows feature all of our skaters and strive to be at the highest calibre. Show times and ticket purchasing info will be coming soon. In the mean time check out the amazing photos from our 2023 Ice Show!

Our New Ice Committee continues to explore options for ice in 2026. A recent article in the Times Colonist about a new facility, including a new ice rink, at Lambrick Park in Gordon Head (link below) indicates a very positive sign that there will likely be a new ice rink in Gordon Head. In the meantime, we are pursuing ALL options to ensure that we have ice for our RCV skaters during any gap between the closure of Ian Stewart and the opening of a new rink. We encourage you to write to the Times Colonist (letters@timescolonist.com) in response to this article and to Saanich Municipality to push for speedy progress in the building of a new rink in Saanich

We are excited to announce that our annual Skate-a-ton (postponed from earlier in 2024) will now take place on Sunday April 14th from 5:30-7:30pm at the Ian Stewart Complex.

The Racquet Club of Victoria Figure Skating Club hosted an incredibly successful three day competition over the weekend. Over 400 skaters from the Vancouver Island region took part. Skaters from Star 1 to Pre Novice, dance and Syncro teams gave their best performances. RCV was proud to take home the team trophy. Congratulations to all the skaters from all of the clubs who took part.
